Joanne Paterson is currently the Head, Metadata Access in Library Information Resources Management (LIRM), Western Libraries, Western University. She oversees a team of librarians and library assistants who catalogue and supply metadata for a wide variety of library materials. From 2013-2016 she was the Coordinator of Western Libraries open access Institutional Repository, Scholarship@Western (S@W) , as well as a metadata management librarian. As such, she fielded inquiries (from faculty, staff, and students) about Scholarship@Western, copyright, author rights, open access, and related questions; and promoted S@W programs and services. Joanne is keenly interested in digital curation and digital preservation, and draws on her background in musicology and the humanities to support digital projects. Joanne holds a BMus in Music History and Literature, a BA in General Humanities and an MA in Musicology from The University of Calgary, in addition to an MScILS from Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, Scotland.
