I am a word artist. My paintings reflect my moods and my passions; yet I hope to create a response from you. Sometimes, I use pastel colours, delicate strokes as I romanticise about my Caribbean; other times I lose myself in the landscape, painting carefree and ageless, ‘cause I’m a Barbadian rural village girl who idolises her grandmother and links the past, to the present, to the future, borderless. On occasions, I use expression lines - my art is abstract, the interpretation yours. But I can be in your face; using bold strokes, bright colours, my art rages, for I am passionate about preservation of the environment and dislike racism, classism, creed-ism and sexism. I love to paint in black and white, with precision; that’s the academic, researcher, teacher of undergraduates coming to fore.
