A little about myself-- A recent import to Minneapolis, I am originally from the mountains of North Carolina, born and raised, but spent countless summers and holidays in Northern Louisiana in a little town called Arcadia, which is about 45 minutes east of Shreveport and 15 minutes west of Ruston. I have an English degree from Appalachian State University. Yes, we kicked top seated Michigan 34-32 in their opening football game on September 1, 2007. Hell of a day. I also have a Nuclear Medicine degree, which is where Nukemlee comes. In addition to this I am CT certified and a NC State Radiation Safety Officer. Yes, toot toot my horn. I love to read and I'm a fanfic junkie. I'm on the internet reading at least 4-6 hours a day. It comes in handy when you only sleep 3-4 hours. Gotta have something to do. I am also a newlywed. My hubby and I went to college together at Elon University. He graduated and I went to ASU. Twentyfive years later we meet up on Facebook and I move to Minnesota to be with him. A year later, October 15th to be exact, we get married in Key West. We had talked about going there for college spring break, but never did. So this was our way of correcting that and 25 lost years. The two things I enjoy most in life are reading and surfing. Opposite extremes don't ya think? One is spent curled up in a dry, sedentary position, maybe sipping an ice tea, and the other is hot, wet, and covered in sunscreen. Thankfully my brain gets the most exercise since I live 20 hours from the coast. However, two weeks every New Years finds me in Kapalua, Maui riding the waves, biking down Haleakala, sailing on the Maui Jim boat (Hey Captain Tom, how's the golf swing?)and throwing back Bombay Sapphire gin and tonics. Yes, the good life!! But there's always the chance to read a good book by the beach!! Thank God for Kindle Fire.
