In 1996, Richard founded Koenigsberg Engineering, P.C., which continues to operate in New York and Chicago. As principal, he has conducted over 1,000 roof and façade inspections. His work involves scaffold-based inspection methods, water penetration analysis, and preparation of repair specifications. The firm manages the entire restoration process, from preparing bid documents and negotiating with contractors to supervising construction work on site, ensuring projects meet technical standards while staying on budget and on schedule. Over time, his firm has managed façade restoration projects with a combined construction value exceeding $50 million. Many of these projects involve landmark buildings that require specialized restoration approaches. His experience in working with terra cotta, limestone, and masonry restoration has made him a reliable resource for preserving the integrity of historic structures. With knowledge of custom cast terra cotta and detailed masonry repair, he has guided numerous restoration efforts that balance structural safety with architectural preservation. Richard Koenigsberg of New York continues to lead his firm with dedication to quality, precision, and reliable project delivery.
