Tom Sannicandro

Thomas V. Sannicandro, JD, PhD, is a renowned advocate and leader in the civil rights of persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities. With over 20 years of legal practice in the disability sector, he has helped enforce civil rights for individuals and families. Sannicandro has also contributed significantly to disability policy research globally and lectured at prestigious institutions like Harvard University Law School and the University of Massachusetts. He has published extensively on disability policy and played a key role in Massachusetts legislation, including authoring groundbreaking laws. Additionally, he has worked on improving healthcare for children with special needs and the economic outcomes of higher education for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Sannicandro, who has an adult son with Down Syndrome, combines personal experience with professional expertise to advance the inclusion and rights of people with disabilities.
